Names of the Police Certificate: Police certificate, Judicial Certificate and Penal Certificate


If you live in Peru


You can apply for a Police certificate at your local police stations or at the Dirección Nacional de Criminalística de la Policía Nacional del Perú (see Contact information for main office address).

You can apply for a Penal certificate at various offices of the National Registry of Prior Sentences (Registro Nacional de Condenas del Poder Judicial del Perú) (see Contact information)

You can apply for a Judicial certificate at various offices of the National Penitentiary Institute (INP) (see Contact information for website and main office address).

Official translation to English or French is required (see Special considerations for website and main office address).


If you live outside of Peru


You can apply for Police, Judicial and Penal certificate by contacting the issuing authorities (listed in the Contact information) or by contacting your nearest Peruvian embassy or consulate.

Alternatively, family members or friends residing in Peru may request the required certificates on your behalf.

Depending on the type of document, either a simple written consent or a power of attorney could be required (contact the issuing authorities for more details).
